Who are we?
Betsy Redmond, PhD, MMSc, RDN
I have worked in nutrition for over 20 years, and have experience in private practice, research, public health, and over a decade in an integrative and functional laboratory. I have a PhD in Nutrition from the University of Georgia, a Master's in Clinical Nutrition from Emory University, and am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I was involved for years with Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine, a nutrition practice group of the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and served as Chair. I am one of the authors of the Standards of Practice (SOP) for Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy (IFMNT), and helped to develop the IFMNT Radial which has been utilized in nutrition textbooks to explain the concept of integrative and functional nutrition to nutrition and health students. In my private practice I am the recipient of the 2016 Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine's Excellence in Practice award. I have appeared on CNN, CWK, and presented at many national and state conferences. Additionally, with more than 10 years experience in a functional laboratory I have an expertise laboratory assessment, and a strong understanding of how and if laboratory testing can help get you better. I have a focus on nutritional assessment, gut microbiome, nutrigenomics and environmental testing.
In my own life and in practice I aim for a whole foods - plant based diet. Plant based diets have good science supporting thier association with better health and lower risk of chronic diseases. I focus on better health, weight loss, IBS, prediabetes, nutritional impact on sleep, depression and mood disorders, as well as other health conditions. I discuss many of these and other topics on my Instagram and blog. I review how lifestyle medicine can improve your health, the real scicne supporting functional and integrative nutrition, laboratory science, cooking, gardening, research, and what ever is interesting that may help people have a healthier lifestyle.
Nancy Rosetti, BS, Health & Wellness Coach
Nancy has extensive experience in achieving goals and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Over two decades ago Nancy and her husband opened one of the first farm to table restaurant in Davenport Iowa. In that experience she learned to set, focus and attain goals. She also learned about living healthy in the real world. She later moved to Atlanta, GA to attend the Emory University’s Health Coach Certificate Program – approved by the International Consortium for Health & Wellness Coaching (ICHWC). Health coaching is client-centered, helping clients make the necessary adjustments to achieve desired health goals. While Dr. Redmond can help you set personalized nutrition goals, Nancy can help you to see how these goals can be attained.
CARALINE ROUSSOS, MS
Caraline is a passionate and convincing advocate for living a balanced life that includes whole, sustainable and organic foods and a focus on the health properties of natural, unadulterated wines. Ms. Roussos earned her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from Texas Tech University, and also holds a Master's degree in Nutritional Science from Texas Tech University. She did her thesis on resveratrol and its effect on cancer cells. In addition to her work at Nutrition Provisions she is a lecturer, college-level instructor and along with her Greek-born husband runs a wine import business. Caraline believes that a Mediterranean diet – along with moderate wine consumption – provides adults with the optimal foundation for a wholesome, healthy lifestyle.
