Betsy Redmond, PhD, MMSc, RDN

Dr. Redmond

Dr. Redmond

I have worked in nutrition for two decades, with experience in private practice, lifestyle medicine, and research, with over a decade in clinical evidence and content development in an integrative and functional laboratory. I hold a PhD in Nutrition from the University of Georgia, a Master's in Clinical Nutrition from Emory University, and am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I am a past chair of Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine, a nutrition practice group of the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, am an author of the Standards of Practice (SOP) for Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy (IFMNT), and helped to develop the IFMNT Radial which has been utilized in nutrition textbooks. In my private practice I was the recipient of the 2016 Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine's Excellence in Practice award. I have appeared on CNN, CWK, and presented at national and state conferences. I am a proponent of strong lifestyle practices and health habits which can be the most important determinants of health.

I aim for a whole foods - plant based diet. A higher intake of plant-based foods is associated with better health and lower risk of chronic diseases. My areas of focus are better health, weight loss, IBS, prediabetes, nutritional impact on sleep, depression and mood disorders, as well as other health conditions. I will assess how your diet is impacting your health, and utilize a personalized approach to help build the best lifestyle for your health.
